This morning we read the book "Fancy Nancy" by Jane O'Connor. We listened to all the fancy words Nancy was using and thought about what they might mean. We practiced studying the illustrations and using them as clues to understand what was happening in the story.
At the end of the book Ms. Alison asked a question: What makes Nancy feel special? We thought that dressing up and being beautiful and pretty made Nancy feel special. Then, Ms. Alison asked another question: What makes YOU feel special? For Lea and Daniel, it is playing on the computer. Emma said that dressing up like a princess with pink shoes makes her feel special. Aziz feels special when he goes to the waterpark and Axel like swimming. For Denzil, going to the park and pool and the dog park with his dog make him feel special. Zoe said she felt like a princess.
