Near the end of our first unit of inquiry 'Who We Are', we had a chance to "show what we know". We used the 'Draw & Tell app' on our iPads to show the important people in our lives and explain how they have influenced us.

This week Axel has been interested in doing independent writing during his free time. On Tuesday, we took a whiteboard and marker and showed his teachers and friends the letters he knows.
Today, Axel selected to continue a handwriting activity in his Word Study book that he started yesterday with Ms. Alison. He found a new page and continued to practice the letters in his name, as well as some of the other Star Name letters we've explored.
This work demonstrates Axel's enthusiasm for and commitment to learning, as well as his application of knowledge. Well done Axel!

We read a book called "And Here's To You" by David Elliott, which talked about all of the things the author loves. We had a discussion about the things we love and recorded our ideas with words, drawings, and voices.
Axel chose this piece for his portfolio because: "I can swim so fast in the water!"
