Student-led conferences are a chance for students to take the lead and show their families some of their best work, favourite activities, and how much progress they've made over the year.
In other words . . . a celebration of learning!
Here is Olivia's reflection on her Student-led Conference:
Recently we have been doing a lot of playing with shapes. We have been studying their form and observing how they appear in different ways in the world around us. Olivia can confidently name the common shapes: circle, triangle, square and rectangle. She is also experimenting with the names of new shapes, like hexagon, so she can name the shapes she sees in road signs. This was one of Olivia's favourite shape activities. She chose this piece for her portfolio because: "Green means go and yellow means slow and red is stop and it's all circles in a big triangle. I drew the traffic light."
Recently Olivia has been incorporating her knowledge of patterns into her free play. She often adds patterns designs to the structures she creates and today she told Ms. Alison she had made a pattern with 'My Little Pony' names. Here it is!
