On our field trip to the Botanic Gardens we hunted for where we saw light, reflections, and shadows. We also stopped for some playtime with bubbles on one of the fields. Lea noticed that you could see rainbows inside the bubbles. She is still inquiring into how this works.
Lea chose this piece for her portfolio because: "I liked seeing rainbows in the bubbles."
During our second unit of inquiry, Lea enjoyed playing with the loose parts that were available in our classroom and explored how they interacted with different sources of light. Ms. Alison thinks this is an example of Lea's best work because she showed a sustained interest in pursuing her curiosities and also demonstrated creativity with the uses she found for the materials.
