Ms. Alison thinks this is an example of Daniel's best work because he worked creatively and collaboratively with a team of friends to create an original story using imagination and new apps. He was able to retell 'High Above the Sky' with detail and explain how it made him feel.
Daniel's favourite part of our 'How We Express Ourselves' unit of inquiry was our field trip to the Big Eyes, Big Minds Singapore International Children's Film Festival. He wanted to include this experience in his portfolio because of his favourite film 'High Above the Sky'. He said: "The film festival was so fun. It was so crazy when he went inside the rocket and went to space but actually he was sleeping."
When Daniel returned to school he was very interested in creating his own films. He worked as part of a team to create this:
This week we measured our heights for the very last time in K1. We noticed that once again, we had all grown taller! We reflected individually and as a whole class on the changes that had happened. We also made comparisons between each other's heights using math vocabulary, like taller and shorter.
