'Toss the Chips' is one of Daniel's favourite number games. He wanted this work to be included in his portfolio because: "I liked Toss the Chips because I like counting and it's fun. I did a good job of counting how many red and how many yellow."

Daniel can identify numbers confidently up to 100. He has been working on establishing number sequences with numbers in the teens and twenties. Here he is working with Johnny to figure out which numbers come before and after a given number.
Daniel has been working on consolidating his alphabet knowledge and gaining confidence to apply it consistently in his writing. After sorting picture cards of words that start with the sounds 'b', 'm', 'r', and 's' in his word study journal, he worked with a friend to label picture cards for 'r' and 'm' words using sticky notes:
